Hardware Description

Structural overview of console, front panel, and back panel layouts for DS1000 Ethernet switches.

Console Interface

DS1000 Ethernet switches provide an RJ45 serial console port for local out-of-band management and configuration. The console port operates in asynchronous mode with default settings: 115,000 bps baud rate, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, and XON/XOFF flow control.

Important: Port locations differ between 24-port and 48-port SKUs. On 24-port models, the serial console port and MGMT ports are located on the front panel. On 48-port models, out-of-band management interfaces are located on the rear panel.

Panel Layout Summary

Front Panel: Includes RJ45 data downlink ports (24x or 48x), QSFP28 uplink ports (2x or 6x), system status LEDs (SYS, PWR, FAN, ALM), and an accessible luggage tag displaying unit information.

Rear Panel: Houses dual hot-swappable AC Power Supply Units (PSU 1 and PSU 2), 4 hot-swappable fan modules, Earth grounding studs, USB-A 3.0 ports, RJ45 serial console, and out-of-band management combo ports (SFP/RJ45).

CAUTION: The USB port supports data transmission only and does not provide power output.
