Hardware Description

PSU Removal and Installation

Step-by-step procedure to safely swap or install a hot-swappable Power Supply Unit (PSU).

Ensure you are wearing an ESD wrist strap grounded to the chassis and that replacement PSUs match the existing airflow direction.

  1. Disconnect the AC power cord from the PSU power receptacle.
    Figure 1.

  2. Press the black release tab located adjacent to the power receptacle to unlock the module latch.

  3. Lift the PSU handle and pull the module firmly straight out of the chassis slot.
  4. To install a new PSU, align the module with the open slot, slide it in firmly until the latch snaps into place, and reconnect the AC power cable.
